Good Eats: Benny's Bakery

If you are going to be in Saline for the Eggstravaganza, you must make a stop at Benny's Bakery. If you are not coming to Saline for Easter celebrations, you should stop by Benny's Bakery anyway. When we moved to Saline, the first sweet, welcome gift we received was a bag of hot pretzels from Benny's and we have been addicted ever since.

Insider Info.

Go early. This bakery is a small town establishment, therefore their hours are not typical. They are open Tuesday-Friday from 5:30am-2:00 and on Saturday from 5:30am until noon.

Grab the pretzels. While everything from Benny's is delicious, our hands down favorite are the hot, soft, salty pretzels. A dozen is never enough, so order two. Be aware, they make them on Saturdays only.

Order in advance. There are plenty of  Saturday mornings when Benny's runs out of pretzels (they are that good). If you know you want them, place an order the day before (Friday before 2pm) so you are guaranteed the savory perfection on Saturday morning.

Make it personal. Benny's not only bakes delicious creations, but their treats are also works of art. They make personalized cookies that are as yummy to eat as they are to look at, and their cakes look divine. I need a special occasion to justify ordering one :)

Spice up Easter. Benny's offers great, festive bakery items for every holiday. For Easter you can order chocolate eggs, Easter cakes, Easter cookies, hot cross buns, breads and rolls, but you better get your order in now! Watch for other specialty items around other holiday too.

Photo: They're back! Our yummy chocolate Easter egg cakes are here. They're available plain, vanilla cream-filled, and new this year: peanut butter cream-filled! Stop in and get some, and don't forget to place your orders for Easter weekend!
