If you are craving a day of antique shopping or interested in seeing a little of Detroit's history close to home, check out
Materials Unlimited on Michigan Ave. in Ypsilanti. It is a beautiful store full of antique treasures collected from demolition jobs and restored to absolute beauty. Those working inside the store are knowledgeable and helpful but not pushy. The items you see are valuable and the prices reflect that, though I did see some great buys too! If you love historical details or are looking for that "just right" vintage item, Materials Unlimited is an absolute must!
The story behind the store is lovely and worth the read,
here. If you are out of state or area and are interested in Materials Unlimited, they have amazing offerings online
here.
When we toured the store as part of Visit Ypsi Now, I took some photos of a few of my favorites, enjoy!
